Psychotherapeutic
counselling and coaching
for the REALITY of
motherhood
I’m a Mum of two and a qualified
Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specialising in
Motherhood.
I’m passionate about enabling and
encouraging women like you to speak freely
about the REALITY of motherhood. Without
fear of judgement or guilt.
Together we can pick apart and understand
the harder parts of motherhood. The
emotions, experiences and feelings society
would prefer you to KEEP MUM about.
Hello!

“To keep Mum”
My story
I thought I was prepared for motherhood.
Indeed I was. Just not the reality of it. I was
ready for a motherhood that doesn’t actually
exist. You know the one - in the films, on tv, the
romanticised image of the mother who
instinctively knows what she’s doing. Who
understands and loves her baby from the
moment they meet. The mother who loves
every minute. A motherhood where I would put
everyone first, leaving my old life and identity
behind, never feeling any sadness, confusion or
resentment about that. The perfect mother.
The changes and challenges that motherhood
brought to my life were seismic. The reality was
such a shock. Realising I couldn’t have prepared
for this, because the reality of motherhood is so
rarely discussed, made me furious.
A combination of therapy and learning about the
ways motherhood impacts us, helped me to a
place of self-compassion and freed me from the
all-consuming pressure to be the perfect mother.
I vowed to make it my mission to help as many
women as possible to understand the changes
that becoming a mother has brought them. To
make sense of who they are now, and most
importantly to find a way to be kind to
themselves and be able to enjoy motherhood,
without the constant feeling of failing. Most of
all I vowed to encourage no more KEEPING
MUM about the reality of motherhood.
How do i help?
Our one-to-one therapy sessions provide a
safe, non-judgmental space where you can share
your raw, unfiltered experiences of motherhood.
Together, we explore the complex emotions that
society often expects mothers to suppress - from
anxiety, rage and guilt to grief for your previous
identity. I help you understand how becoming a
mother has fundamentally shifted your world.
You'll develop a deeper self-understanding
and genuine self-compassion, moving from
overwhelming confusion to clarity about who you
are as both a mother and an individual.
Whether you're struggling with the gap between
your expectations and reality, feeling lost in your
new identity, or grappling with complex emotions
you never expected to feel, I offer a space where
every aspect of your experience is valid and
worthy of understanding.
